The call rings out
Across the land
It’s war no doubt
Every horse is manned.
Sons and fathers leave
To meet the war’s demand
Wives and mothers grieve
Children can’t understand
They watch with a sigh
As their fathers’ troops march by.
Women are widowed
Families torn apart
Children are caught in the middle
For a war must start.
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On a king’s
whim
The knights ride
Warring for him
Valor and pride
To battle they race
Warrior and knight
It’s death they face
And death they fight.
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
In an old man’s
eyes
See the price of war
He knows all the lies
He pleads no more.
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
